Welcome to the latest episode of The Tone Lounge. Neville Marten and Richard Barrett jam, chat, tweak and test their way round new gear that's causing a buzz in the world of guitar.
This episode is all about Vox's reimagining of their classic 60s amps. First up, there's the stripped-down AC30S1, with a single Top Boost derived channel and significantly less weight than a 'full fat' AC30. Joining it is the diminutive but potent Mini Super Beetle, powered by a blend of solid state power stage and NuTube preamp a very cool piece of tech that is effectively a flat, compact, quiet and cool triode valve, derived from Vacuum Fluorescent Display technology. The tech may be unfamiliar but the tones it produces are promised to be stunningly authentic for its size and weight. So what do Nev and Richard think? Join us for a jam in the Tone Lounge to find out...
