These delicious creations are the work of Doug Kauer and only three co-workers. Each Kauer guitar is hand made and finished, using hand selected wood and hardware. Consistency is key to Doug's vision. As wildly different as Kauer guitars can look from one model to the next, feel, sound & build quality remains at a constant high level.

If ever a guitar were described as ‘effortlessly cool’, it would be the Kauer Banshee. This thing just screams confident Rock swagger. The inspiration is clear enough to see but this guitar is very much its own animal.

Kauer use Spanish Mahogany for the body and neck. This wood (not actually Spanish at all, it’s from Honduras) has very similar tonal properties to standard Mahogany but is very light in weight.

Kauer have gone for playability in terms of the fingerboard: the dark Wenge board has a 12” radius and a 24.75” scale length for easy bends and lead playing.

This Banshee is finished in Cadillac Green, a tasteful and appropriately ‘Hot-Rodded’ colour for the design. We can’t get over how good looking this thing is!

A pair of TV Jones pickups make the most of that light, responsive wood. A PowerTron model and a PowerTron + at the bridge is the perfect choice for vintage bite and sustain.

This is one of those great guitars where every element complements every other. This is what custom guitar building is all about. Playing this Kauer Banshee is such a pleasure: the quality is obvious and the instrument just sings. Do yourself a favour and investigate this guitar more closely as soon as you can!
