The Spankenstein's heart and soul comes from the ability of the Class A mixer technology, to use the compressed signal and the clean signal together, creating a palette of parallel compression options.

Parallel compression gives you more control at your fingertips to dial in your sound. By using the Clean knob in conjunction with your Level knob, (which only controls the compression volume) you are able to dial in long sustain and punchy attack at the same time. For example, turn your sustain to 3 oclock and the Level to 12 oclock. You now have a squishy, very compressed signal with lots of sustain. Use the clean knob to match your overall volume level and hear how your attack comes back! You can now have sustain and punch in one! The Spankenstein loves humbuckers and single coils alike. There are no issues with the Spankenstein robbing your top end like some compressors. The tone of the compression side is much more wide open than most compressors as well. When you add the Clean, the possibilities are endless!!
