The Amptweaker BluesFuzz pedal is a limited edition(only 49 built) fuzz pedal using a low output germanium transistor for great cleaner tones. It is a special tweaked and simplified version of the TightFuzz, and includes our popular Boost Switch MOD.
Why 49? Although surrounded with controversy, some bluesmen believe that the famous crossroads where Robert Johnson supposedly dealt with the devil was Highway 49 & 61 in Clarksdale Mississippi. What they DON'T know is that Amptweaker's James and Phyllis Brown both grew up along highway 49 (further south below Jackson) and even first met in a truckstop poolroom on highway 49. You can't grow up in Mississippi without being influenced by the blues, which is evident in James' playing, so this is a fun tip of the hat to our own personal connection with the blues.
In this little jam video, I play the pedal in different ways......first very clean with an American Strat into a '64 Princeton, then moderately crunchy with the Strat into a Kustom 72 Coupe set clean, and finally set very crunchy and louder driving a Schecter Hellwin clean channel set moderately dirty. The pedal is very flexible, and I hope this demonstrates the range pretty well.
