This weekend a special event took place at a German school near Trossingen.
Arne Wehkamp (Product Manager Fretted Instruments) and Morgan Franke (HOHNER Export Marketing Manager) gave 50 pupils the opportunity to learn to play ukulele in just one day. The peculiarity of the workshop was that half of the pupils were children of a refugee accommodation. They all go to the “Goldenbühlschule” in Villingen-Schwenningen togehter.
Within only half a day they learned to play two songs on the instrument. And they played their first gig right after the workshop: for their parents. Everyone was amazed at the new skills of the children and music once again proved to be the universal language that helps people come together ignoring language and making cultural barriers disappear.
