This is the Earthquaker Devices Sea Machine V2, an updated version of the company's uniquely full-featured chorus pedal. The Sea Machine sets itself apart from the pack with a slightly longer than normal delay element that can impart a shimmering, slapback-like quality to its warm chorus tones. Digital/analog hybrid circuitry gives the user unprecedented control over the pedal's parameters, which include standard controls like Rate, wave shape, Intensity, and Depth, and unique controls like Animation, which controls the range of the Sea Machine's pitch shift, and Dimension, which can add anything from a touch of slapback to deeply resonant echo tones. The Sea Machine's remarkable control set allows it to go well beyond what other chorus pedals can do, achieving tones that range from the subtly aquatic, to the thick and Leslie-esque, to seasick alien arpeggiations. It also works beautifully with dirt pedals, retaining clarity and full signal integrity no matter how much fuzz or distortion you put in front of it.
