This short footage illustrates how the Torpedo Live loadbox and its embedded security load behave.
We are taking measurements on the loadbox with a multimeter that we are plugging into the Speaker Input — the Input into which you would normally plug the Speaker Out of your amplifier.
This multimeter will allow us to measure the Direct Current impedance of the Speaker Input. The nominal value of that impedance is 8 Ohms at 1 kHz.
When your device is off, the loadbox is not activated, and your amplifier will be connected to a security load of about 220 Ohms.
When the machine is powered up, the loadbox is active and presents a DC load of about 25 Ohms.
In the event of a power failure, the device will switch back to the 220-Ohm security load, thus keeping your amplifier perfectly safe in any situation.
