While the TC-50 (and TC-100) delivers an incredibly diverse and wide range of clean and gain sounds from it’s three simple channels, the core of it’s Tone is firmly rooted in legendary rock sounds. Undeniably classic, vintage EL-34 grit, grind and crunch sounds are the anchor in Ch. 2 & 3 at lower and medium gain settings, with the potential for blazing modern distortion at higher Gain settings always waiting in the wings.
Mesa Artist Jamie Humphries plays a proper tribute to the fabled tone and styles of rock heroes Malcolm and Angus Young with a song he calls “Flick on the Switch”. Jamie’s playing here is an prime example of the focused low-mid punch and signature crunch of the iconic AC/DC guitar sounds available from the TC-50 and a Rectifier Compact 2x12.
Recorded with an Ernie Ball Musicman Reflex guitar with DiMarzio pickups into the TC50 head through a Rectifier 2x12 Compact cab loaded with Celestion Vintage 30s. Mic’d with a Heil PR30 and the built-in CabClone on the TC50 and mixed 75% Heil and 25% Cab Clone.
The Triple Crown series represents decades of Mesa innovation in features, build quality, reliability and Tone – seamlessly combining classic, heralded rock crunch with modern high gain sounds – all in a compact and straightforward interface.
