Rush "Freewill" guitar lesson. Today we're using the new SL Drive from Xotic Effects combined with the CMAT Mods Analog Chorus for an early 80's Alex Lifeson tone. Freewill starts with a descending F Lydian scale and continues with the main riff at the first 3 frets. The next part blazes through a bevy of triads which add more sonic variety than just 3 bar chords. With the Pre-Chorus, we also hear some nice jangling chords (Bm 11th and A#maj7b5) that immediately have the Rush sound with an analog chorus in the mix. Enjoy your riff of the day guitar lesson!
