Welcome back to ProGuitarShop and ToneReport.com. Today, we’re getting a look at two new pedals from Outlaw Effects. The Deputy Marshal is for players looking to bolster their existing rig with all the midrange-forward crunch of a vintage Plexi stack without breaking your back or your bank account. With three knobs for Level, Gain and Tone, the Deputy Marshal is supremely easy to dial in and sounds great on virtually any setting. A handy Bright switch lets you tailor the Deputy Marshal to your pickups or inherently bright pedals before or after it. Due to its tiny enclosure, the Deputy Marshal can fit onto even the fullest pedalboards with ease. The range of the Gain know is quite large and can cop sounds from each member of the family, from the JTM series to the higher-gain found in JCM-style amps. The Rocker Box tremolo helps you dial in glassy tremolo sounds with a simple control set. Standard Depth and Speed knobs let you set the intensity of the pulse, giving you everything from light movement to a deep pulse. The Bias control affects the symmetry of the LFO, which slightly warps the peaks for give you skewed waveforms that makes the tremolo sound like well-worn tube amp trem. The Bias knob is extremely interactive with the Depth, and careful adjustment of each can give you convincing tube tremolo tones that span several classic amplifiers.
