I have a number of effects pedals that I bought over the years and wanted to see the current values for them. Buying the 'wrong' pedal can cost you dearly, but investing in the right ones can seriously help your wealth!
I show you EIGHT of my effects units and check the values as they are today according to Vintage Guitar price book prices since 2011. But I also check Reverb.com for current sell prices too. If you bought the right pedals it could be great news, but buying the wrong guitar effects pedals could cause you to lose lots of money.
Careful choice is necessary. As is an idea of the used effects market; always make sure you are not paying more than the current going price. In my case I cover the cost price I bought at, 2011 price, 2014 price and 2021 price according to Vintage Guitar for each year as well as those reverb prices.
It is possible to turn buying and selling pedals in to a business and many have. And it can be a lucrative business too. But buying most guitar effects can also seriously damage your income in a big way if you don't have a clue.
Take a look at the pedals I have shown in this video and note the ones that I suggest could increase in value. They might or might not. If you do nothing and they increase as some have over five or six years you could actually have missed out on up to $4000+ profit for even one of those! Then maybe you could not afford the prices at that time to buy then. Of course, its also OK to buy because you want to use effects to play your guitar! And I do that too. But are effects pedals a good or bad bet on whether they will make money? Find out from my experience.
This video series is entirely unsponsored and I purchased every single pedal shown just as you would have. I sincerely hope that this series of videos can inspire you to look closer at the used and rare effects pedal market as indeed I have in this video which is part of a series of videos covering guitars, effects, amplifiers and other equipment in 2021.
