The LOTHAR, is what I call, the exploding over drive effect. Very close cousin to a fuzz, but no Germanium or Silicon transistors. It cleans up to a nasty boost when you pull the gain all the way back. Anyhoo...it's certainly not for everybody, or for every song, but it's going on my board to use to punch up leads and single note phrases.
