At Machina Bristronica 2024, we caught up with Tobias from Tubbutec  who introduced us to the Brainstep, a four-track sequencer and arpeggiato.

 Previously shown at Superbooth, Brainstep offers live recording capabilities, the ability to output envelopes, LFOs, and drum samples. Tobias mentioned a new controller being developed, which would simplify managing envelopes and LFOs, with anticipated availability in a few months.

Designed to be the central element of your modular setup, Brainstep enables switching between its sequencer and arpeggiator functions seamlessly during live performances. Tobias highlighted its capacity to load and play lo-fi drum samples across four channels simultaneously. With similarities to the classic MC-202 in terms of code-base, Brainstep offers enhanced functionality with 16 envelopes and 8 LFOs, enhancing modulation options for your creative needs.
