Day five of the Tones For Tache campaign in support of Movember 2014. For more on Movember, please go here... http://uk.movember.com/
Following day three’s sneak peak at the 2015 Gibson Les Paul Standard, Mick went behind the scenes at a Guitarist photoshoot to get a quick blast on it… And two other 2015 Les Pauls – the Studio and the Deluxe.
In this video he plays some bluesy licks and riffs on each guitar through a Fender Blues Junior III amp, to give you an idea of how they sound. There’s a full review of all three coming up in issue 389 of Guitarist, including more insight on the features and controls, and of course that new wider neck and zero fret adjustable nut design. And yes, the price.
If you'd like to know how this was recorded... It's a Sennheiser e906 dynamic mic and Rode NT5 on the amp, direct into a Zoom H6. There's also a bit of the overhead voice mic (Rode NTG-2) mixed in low to give some of the room sound and space.
