Next at ProGuitarShop and ToneReport.com, we're feeling the Pulse Drive from CAST Engineering. The Pulse Drive is based on an old-school transistorized tremolo circuit prized for its resemblance to real amp trem. With two simple controls for Rate and Depth, users can instantly recall any variation of the classic circuit, from syrupy slow swooshes to deep throbs. The Pulse Drive earns its stripes with its Level knob, which contains an powerful and colorful boost that will guarantee that your tremolo sound will hack through even the densest rhythm sections. When the Depth control is fully backed off, the tremolo circuit is officially out of the signal path, leaving yor amp to deal with the boost circuit. The 30-decibel clean boost throws the front end of your amp to the lions, pushing it into the red zone with ease. The boost and trem circuits are highly interactive as well, and you can use quick tremolo chops to rhythmically juice your preamp section for a truly unique overdrive experience, or set it slow and low and add boost to taste for a gradual gain boost that pushes your amp at the peak of the waveform. The Pulse Drive is equipped with clear knobs, loaded with LEDs that pulse to the setting of the Rate knob, which serves as a handy visual reminder of the tempo when you're tapdancing on a loaded board. And like all CAST Engineering pedals, the Pulse Drive is handmade, one at a time right here in the states.
