Welcome back to ProGuitarShop and ToneReport.com. Today we’re kicking things up a notch with the MXR Booster Mini. The Booster Mini is a deceptively simple all-in-one tonal flavor enhancer that combines two tried-and-true circuits in one tiny enclosure. Both the mojo of the MXR Echoplex Preamp and the raw power of the MXR Micro Amp are found side by side, with the Echoplex pre running into the teeth of the Micro Amp. The Volume control on the front controls the volume for the Micro Amp side, while a master Tone control enables a high-cut to filter out any unwelcome high frequencies generated by the circuit pair. The Echoplex pre side of the Booster Mini is controlled by an internal trimpot, which you can adjust with a screwdriver. This lets you precisely tailor the Echoplex's FET circuit to add subtle comp and grit to your guitar before it heads to the booster side. The Micro Amp side gives you 25 decibels of sparkling clean boost that’s been pushing amps into the red since the late ‘70s. The Micro Amp’s boost is clean enough to use at any position on your pedalboard when a little extra power is needed. Put it after delays and reverbs to give your amp what-for, or try placing it between dirt layers to push your favorite gain pedals into musical saturation. And just like all MXR pedals, the Booster Mini is manufactured right here in the USA.
