Welcome back to ProGuitarShop and ToneReport.com. Today, we’re sliding into the cockpit of the FT-2Y Flight Time Delay, from Free the Tone. The Flight Time is the first intelligent delay pedal, which utilizes a host of cutting-edge technology that analyzes your incoming signal and sets the delay time accordingly. Thanks to its internal BPM Analyzer that uses an onboard mic, the Flight Time offers surgical-precision beat matching by taking your tapped-in tempo and automatically adjusting it to the music you're playing to. And because its accurate analysis can sometimes crowd the mix, the Flight Time is equipped with a Delay Offset function that spaces the time apart to create striking delay textures without having to bend over and turn knobs. The Flight Time offers 99 total presets with the ability to seamlessly load them into the memory with a series of footswitch presses. You can load up to two presets up front and then activate either one toggling between them. Simple parameters such as volume, feedback, modulation and more can be programmed via banks of buttons and then socked away in a preset, for a seamless live performance tool. Hidden functions abound within the Flight Time, such as a Hold mode that freezes the repeat currently being heard, a Record function that acts as a looper and a Trails feature that lets you choke off the repeats when you turn the pedal off, or keep going while in bypass. Full MIDI functionality allows for easy connection to a master timepiece or switching rig, giving you extra-deep control options. And just like all Free the Tone products, the Flight Time is exactingly engineered in Japan.
