"Serenata Española", originally written by Joaquim Malats i Miarons for piano, gained much of its popularity as a guitar transcription. With its triple meter and the Phrygian mode, the piece displays typical flamenco elements that originated in Andalusia in the late 18th century. Julian Scarcella has played a perfectly authentic rendition of this classical piece with an absolute precision of his left and right hand.
