This King Snake Limited Edition 1x12 is signed by Randall Smith and Carlos Santana, and if you can find one, it'll cost you around £2,799. According to Mesa/Boogie, the King Snake is "Carlos Santana's amp: his legendary MkI, used throughout his 1972/73 tour, faithfully recreated, even down to its original cab with 'edge moulding' and 'King Snake' embossed leather covering.
"It's the MkI that collectors, Boogie enthusiasts, tone junkies and Carlos devotees will all want to own, and we're making a very limited run. We've recreated it, updated the reverb circuit, added an effects loop and Multi-Watt [which steps the amp down from 100W to 60W or 10W], created a totally new Fillmore speaker for it, plus made a few other tweaks, and the result is an amp that completely encapsulates Carlos' Boogie tone."
Unlike the host of options usually available from Boogie, this is very much what-you-see- is-what-you-get: a 112 combo, no head version, one finish - which isn't the normal 'snake skin', but "actually embossed and printed lambskin, and is identical to the original material used on Carlos' Boogie. It is not available for use on any other amp."
The King Snake is demo'd in this video by Darran Charles from the band Godsticks: http://www.godsticks.co.uk
