GREAT SOUND! has a very watery/smooth sound. in both modes you can get lots of cool sounds. the phaser mode sounds very similar to the small stone. but this mode has only one flaw i think. on the small stone you have that depth switch that when is on(up) you can really deep sounds, one the polyhase you cant go that deep. you can still get a good deep sound with just not as deep as the small stone. i dont use that depth switch on my small stone a whole lot anyway so this doesnt realy bother. the envelope control model is really neat. some people have said it an envelope follower or a phase shifter with a little more to it. but i kind of think its those with a flanger thrown in somewhere. i mean you can hear phase shifting, an little but of an auto-wah sound, and a little bit of a flanging sound. it depends on what settings you have you feedbacl knob and env. sensitivity knob. those two control which of those three sounds there is more of in this mode. maybe not everyone who has this effect will think the same way i do about the flanging sound being there, but i swear it sounds like an electric mistress with a phaser on it. but whatever the envelope control mode does exactly, it must do it well because its really cool. vey guiet too when turned on. and unlike the small stone, the polyphase doesnt cut volume when on.
