Owner of The Fellowship Of Acoustics, Mr. Rudi Bults, presenting an original 1942 Martin D-28 for VintageandRare.com - "Legendary Vintage Guitars Series"
Vintage 1942 Martin D-28, a vintage guitar of the upper class. Serial number # 82515. This guitar is in excellent condition, has no cracks, and is completely original finish except for a light overspray over the top only. The neck is very comfortable with a soft V shape neck. It is without a doubt one of the best sounding Martin D28 we ever had in our shop, if not the best. This prewar herringbone has an Adirondack spruce top, scalloped bracing (X brace is approx 1 3/4 "from the sound hole) straight quartersawn Brazilian rosewood back and sides, 14-fret mahogany neck, 20-fret ebony fretboard with slotted diamond and square inlay 43mm width at the nut 645mm scale, ivoroid bound body with herringbone top trim, original vintage nickel Grover tuners, the pickguard is also original, it's remarkable that the guitar is completely crack free and there not even pickguard crack, the action is perfect, and the saddle still has a lot of space.A beautiful guitar in rare excellent condition.Of course it sounds like no other. And has that typical deep sonorous sound where these guitars are so famous for, I can hardly imagine a better guitar for studio recordings. It should be emphasized that guitars in this rare beautiful condition are rarely found. If you look closely you see the age, but on first look this guitar looks like it's 10-20 years old with only slight traces of use. If you were looking for a clean authentic pre-war herringbone this is the ideal candidate! Includes original martin case. Do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions.
