Welcome back to ProGuitarShop and ToneReport.com, today we're getting a load of the Big Fella True Overdrive from Lunastone. The Big Fella represents an American amp-style offering from Lunastone, delivering an ultra-versatile transparent overdrive experience that plays nice with even the biggest pedalboards. The gain structure of the Big Fella is unique to the pedal universe, relying on several cascading gain stages without the use of clipping diodes, for a more open, gently compressed tone provided by op-amps and transistors. Because it's a more American-type drive pedal, the mids aren't as pronounced, leaving the frequency sculpting to your amp or other pedals. The Big Fella offers two modes of overdrive, each with a distinct flavor. OD1 provides a lighter-gain, more transparent gain structure, while OD2 gives you a significant increase in gain and harmonic content. Both modes excel at touch sensitivity, offering an expressive overdrive experience that adds brawn only when your picking hand wants it. The Big Fella's Boost circuit adds a pristine 15 decibel push to the overall gain, and can be engaged even when the drive side is in bypass. The boost gives your tone enough oomph and frequency enrichment to be left on all the time, but when both are engaged, they become a double-barelled gain blast that takes aim at your amp's front end.
