Cake "The Distance" guitar lesson. The next Riff of the Day uses a Mad Professor Sweet Honey overdrive and a Fender DRRi amp without reverb to achieve a powerful, low gain tone. The Distance takes a unique approach at doesn't use a single bar chord but relies on two note harmonies or dyads. The trumpet harmony is also included in case your band doesn't have one! The chorus could've been a lost Black Sabbath riff with its low E chugging and pulloffs and the string dampening in between strokes really helps to lock with the tight rhythm section.
