There are many words I could use to describe the Wildwood 10 '60s Thinline Telecaster you see before you, but one will suffice: wow. I am, of course, being facetious when it comes to word count (this is the Wildwood website, where pictures this pretty are worth approximately 52,000 words), but this guitar really does elicit a genuine sense of awe and wonderment. Look at the sweet journeyman relic on the faded seafoam green finish! And that flamed maple neck is downright freaky!
More importantly, the Thinline Telecaster's sounds meet the gold standard established by its finish. With its two Seymour Duncan P-90s, I could cop a wide variety of sounds. Mellow jazz, jangly indie chime, gnarly punk, rock and roll crunch and bite, country twang--you name it, this terrifying Tele can do it!
Its midrange is big, broad, and vocal like the roar of a Leviathan cresting the surface of the ocean for the first time in millennia after being woken by some arcane ritual. By contrast, the highs sound open and clear, and they showcase plenty of sweet, blooming overtones. The lows are meaty and muscular, but they never really sound flubby or tubby.
The P-90-equipped Thinline Telecaster is also a joy to play. Classic Wildwood 10 ergonomic appointments like narrow-tall 6105 frets and a 10" radius make it easy to play, and the '59 Large C neck shape is quite comfy.
All in all, these Thinline Telecasters are truly awe-inspiring instruments. They are nigh-impossible to put down (trust me, I tried!). We're proud to showcase these drool-inducing guit-fiddles, and we are sure they will bring Fender fans a lifetime of joy and inspiration.
