Welcome back to ProGuitarShop and ToneReport.com. Today we're setting sail with the Stereo Black Cat Vibe. The Stereo black Cat Vibe isn't a direct copy of the Shin-Ei Uni-Vibe, but rather an improvement that sets the new standard for vibrato pedals. As Uni-Vibe aficionados know, the key to achieving perfect vibe tones is the use of an incandescent lamp-and-photocell arrangement with proper transistor selection and biasing. Each Black Cat Vibe is expertly tuned for optimum wobble across all components, from the dense canopy of passive parts to the custom 3-D printed hood that encloses the light-sensitive bits. The Black Cat Vibe comes with a high-current 12-volt power supply that gives it a boost in headroom, so it can take a whole board worth of pedals and dip it into the sea of waves without distorting. The classic mode switch is placed front and center, with the Chorus mode combining both dry and wet signals for the essential 'vibe tone and Vibrato mode killing the dry signal for a sickly, but tasteful, pitch vibrato. Stereo operation is where the Black Cat Vibe really shines, with the second output offering the inverse of the standard effect, creating an immense dose of modulation that writes the riffs for you. An expression jack lets you attach an expression pedal that takes over the Speed control for swells of vibe just like the original. And just like all Black Cat pedals, the Stereo Vibe is made right here in the USA with no compromises.
