Hey it's Andy with ProGuitarShop and ToneReport.com, today we’re behind the wheel of the Getaway Driver, from Orange Amps. The Getaway Driver gives you classic amp-in-a-box tones by using a class-A single-ended gain structure, for a more amp-like breakup when pushed hard. By utilizing an internal charge pump that multiplies the 9-12V DC operating voltage, the Getaway Driver packs some serious heat under the hood to ensure it plays nice with all your surrounding dirt pedals, or even in the effects loop of your amp. Due to its amp-like nature, the Getaway Driver can be applied to any situation that calls for a real amp, such as intermingling amongst your existing dirt array or even right before your existing amp to give it a little more juice without any unmusical distortion artifacts. The Bite control on the Getaway Driver functions as both a tone and presence control, helping you quickly tailor the pedal for use in multiple positions. The versatility of the Getaway Driver dramatically opens up when using its dual secondary output. This output can be used as either a headphone output for silent jamming, or as a Cab Sim out for use as a recording interface. Both the standard instrument output can be used along with the Cab Sim, so you can send the rest of your signal to your pedalboard and the cab simulation to your PA for some enveloping drive textures that hit the audience from all angles. A hidden push-button control activates a gentle low-pass filter that shaves off any frequencies above 20kHz, which makes the Getaway Driver more versatile when using the Cab Sim. And just like all Orange products, the Getaway Driver is designed in the UK by the same team responsible for its amplifiers.
