Welcome back to ProGuitarShop.com, we're headed back to Waveland with Alexander Pedals. Today, we're seeing how the Waveland stacks up when paired with your favorite dirt pedals. The key to achieving the right balance of both dirt and modulation is the Mix (blend control) and the device's headroom. Fortunately, the Waveland offers three modulation types and a global Blend knob for each mode. The all-analog signal path also gives a great high-headroom platform for one or many dirt pedals before it. Dialing the Blend knob a couple hairs above zero adds an extra dimension in every mode and any genre. In Chorus mode, easing up the Blend control adds a subtle double-tracking effect to the signal, while the Phaser and Tremolo modes yield just enough movement to make things interesting. Hardly any phaser pedals contain a Blend control, so the Alexander Waveland definitely opens up some new doors for adventurous players.
