Removing deep scratches from an expensive guitar can be very difficult to do as well as very scary. This is a Paul Reed Smith PRS Custom 24 from 2005 with the Artist pack which was recently reintroduced in 2012 after it was discontinued in 2008. I talk about the guitar and show the highlights, I show you EXACTLY what I did to remove those DEEP scratches and talk about how I bought the guitar on eBay and how the guitar was not 'MINT' as described by the seller and what I did about that.
I also talk about PRS and their current strategies and pricing methods in 2012. Lastly I play the guitar to show some of the sound (directly in to the camera) - this time the sound recordings were not that great, but I'm sure you will get an idea about the overall sound and I ran out of time so maybe next time I'll put up some more video of this one on YouTube. You will need to ask from my website ;-)
And of course you see the guitar at the end of the video as your audience would see it. This actually is a cool guitar and deserved better than how someone had handled it, so I solved all it's issues. Some guys on the other hand would pay for all those scratches (silly boys) but I for one like a guitar to be kept in excellent condition.
Coming up on my next video actually is some pickup surrounds made of Brazilian Rosewood (really old wood) for the PRS Custom 24 with a tremolo fitted and I'll show you just how good or bad they are... and tell you where to buy them at a realistic price (as opposed to those prices from PRS for a very similar item for much more money than they are really worth). Come back and check it out soon.
I hope you like this video showing how to get rid of those DEEP SCRATCHES (and the not so deep ones) as well as the other things I have covered on here to help musicians. Oh and one last thing... don't use toothpaste on your guitar to get rid of scratches - it's not the way to go unless you are foaming at the mouth :-)... yes someone actually said that on the internet!
Please DO NOT copy this video - just come to YouTube and watch it, or better still go to my website at http://www.tonymckenzie.com and see loads of reviews much better than just video and in far more depth.
