Raul first saw Carlos Santana play in 1967. It was then that he decided he wanted to play congas, and he wanted to play them with Santana. That dream came true in 1976 when he joined the Santana band. Due to his long history with Carlos, Raul was there when Paul and Carlos first met and has since watched Santana find his tone and full voice with PRS guitars.
