Welcome to "Friends Pick Friday" at Emerald City Guitars! From time to time we're going to have some of the incredibly talented friends of the shop come in to hang and check out some awesome guitars!
Today we have Skyler Mehal, an incredibly talented Seattle guitarist who is currently playing with a whole handful of other Seattle artists! From his own project by the name of Supermother (who you've heard in quite a few of our Pick of the Day videos in recent months), to the likes of Cody Beebe & The Crooks, Lost Coast, Kara Hesse, and Nick Foster, Skyler seems to have his guitar playing fingers in every corner of this city!
Keeping with the style of guitars he normally plays, we picked out a lovely 1967 Fender Telecaster Custom and a Gibson ES-175 DN from 1957! Both of these beautiful guitars were played through a blackface 1966 Fender Princeton amp, and what an incredible set of tones these combinations have in Skyler's hands!
