The legendary Johnny Marr has his fingerprints on several decades of pop hits, beginning with his groundbreaking stint in the Smiths throughout the 1980s. Since then, Marr's unmistakable jangly and ringing sound has appeared in his work with The The, Electronic, the Pretenders and Johnny Marr and the Healers. More recently, Marr lent his hand to Modest Mouse and the Cribs, and that's not to mention his solo work that yielded a debut album in 2013 called The Messenger.
Recently, we caught up with the Jaguar-wielding axeman to talk about his storied career, his influences and his attachment to the Fender brand.
Marr also plugged in his signature Fender Jaguar to perform a few songs from the Hospital Club in London, tabbing solo tracks such as "Sun & Moon," "The Messenger," "Lockdown" and "I Want the Heartbeat."
