In this addendum to "Academy of Tone" #29, Thomas is going to delve into the sonic changes you can achieve through different strings and a decent setup. We’ll witness serious tonal improvements when pickup guru Andreas Kloppmann installs a new set of pickups and pots. Next, Thomas shows the difference when swapping out the tremolo system. Finally, our guinea pig Tokai maple Strat gets new frets and an neck edge treatment from our good friend Robert Volpatti. We’ll follow every step of the way, demonstrating the tonal effects each change has on the guitar.
