Many pedals have been made famous alongside certain types of guitars. The Tube Screamer & Stratocaster combo is one example of this-- the two products were seemingly made for each other. While these associations are useful, guitar players like you and I often limit our gear selection to what we have seen our favorite guitarists use.

Today, I'm taking 5 pedals that we normally associate with single-coil guitars, and running several different humbucking guitars through them. The pedals seem to take on different characteristics in response to the drastic change in pickup output. Whether they sound better or worse with humbuckers is up to you to decide.
