Michael Landau Bending Lick Guitar Lesson - Part 2 of 2 - Guitar Breakdown - Guitar instruction and Breakdown.
We are back with another Michael Landau Guitar lesson. And this one is a really cool concept (well, at least I think it is). Here we will breakdown a lick/concept from his song called "Big Bulge" off of his Live CD titled "Michael Landau Live 2000". This is one of the must have Cd's for anyone who really loves great music, great guitar playing and especially anyone who want's to learn a million great guitar riffs.
To buy the entire CD or just this one song ... go to this link:

or you could purchase it straight from Michael's website ...

Just click on "discography"
The part of the solo we breakdown in this lesson begins at about 3:08 in the song. It begins with a simple call and response type of blues phrasing. Then it breaks into this really great bending technique that is very reminiscent of slide guitar.
You can hear other great guitar players like Allen Hinds and Jimmy Herring use a similar technique. It is just a unique way to make simple notes sound fresh and different.
If you are new to Michael Landau ... I would highly suggest you go immediately to your favorite music store and without research or hesitation and purchase "Tales from the bulge", "Organic Instrumentals" and both his "Live" cd's. These recordings alone will keep you entertained and learning for years (and that is no exaggeration).
Also check out his Renegade Creation stuff. This has some amazing playing as well where he combines forces with the great Robben Ford. I would actually suggest you listen to any and all things Michael Landau ... you will not be disappointed.
Ok ... hope you enjoy this lesson and continue to check out our videos. We have a lot of fun things planned for the future, hope you stick around ...
