Michael Brown whips out the TG microscope to put a quartet of big-name tiny-proportioned combos – the Marshall MS-2, Orange Micro Crush PiX, Blackstar Fly 3 and Fender Mini '57 Twin-Amp – to the test, where size and portability are the name of the game.
For this demo, we played a Fender Reclaimed Old Growth Redwood Stratocaster, using the middle single coil for clean sounds and bridge humbucker for dirty tones. The amps were mic'd up using a Groove Tubes condenser microphone to give an idea of the sound in the room.
