Inside the Luthier's Shop with BigDGuitars.com. Here I am carving out a les paul on my copy carver. This takes quite a bit of time. I take off 3/16 a pass and end up doing this around 5-6 times. I then take planes and a sander to this. I gutted a lp to get this right.

Update - I found some bowl carving bits where I can take much deeper passes than before. Cuts my time down
