You’re going to a jam night and you don’t know what the amps are - what to do?
Welcome to the show. This suggestion for a challenge came in from BinBob9 via the comments section on a previous video. Thanks Bob! It seemed like a bit of fun, so let’s do it…
The premise is simple enough: you’re going to play at a jam night and an amp will be provided for you. You can bring a handful of pedals if you want, and you’ll have around five mins to get acquainted. GO!
Enjoy the show.
Mick here. Just wanna head this one off at the pass. There will be a lot of comments saying “You idiots, just plug in and play! You’d never have the chance to fiddle about like this.” Yep, we get it it, and in the heat of battle, you are of course right. This video is really about expanding the process of how to deal with unfamiliar amps and what you might do to get a tone you like. It necessarily takes a bit of explaining instead of us just “plugging in and playing”. That wouldn’t be massively helpful. And of course, it's just a bit of fun, not a manifesto. Cheers.
Interesting bits and go to sections…
