Nathaniel says “Bye Bye Love” to this rare 1963 Natural Gibson Everly Brothers acoustic, but not before having a little fun. Available in three finishes (Black, Sunburst, and Natural, with Natural being by far the rarest), the Gibson Everly Brothers is one of the most sought-after signature acoustics the brand has ever produced, and it’s unclear how many Naturals were made or how many remain to this day. This particular guitar has never been refinished, but rather was over-sprayed, we suspect, after removing the massive dual pickguards. But it’s also possible that this may have been a special order, as even under a blacklight there is no trace of the pickguards to be found. One thing we do know for sure: Nathaniel has the best job in the world.
Nathaniel Murphy describes this very rare 1963 Gibson Everly Brothers Guitar
Nathaniel Murphy here at Chicago Music Exchange, and we are showing off a beautiful 1963 Gibson Everly Brothers guitar. These simply don't come around all that often. So as soon as we got one in we had to do a video of it because we literally may never see another one again. These commonly came in the black finish like the Everly Brothers used a lot but they also came in Sunburst and the natural finish such as what we have here. There isn't an actual count on how many of the natural ones were made. But we do know it's incredibly rare.
