David Bowie "Hang On To Yourself" guitar lesson. Today we're utilizing the Wampler Velvet Fuzz in the Tight mode to conjure a Bender-style attack and biting midrange. Mick Ronson has a stronger fuzztone in live versions, so we're going after a more aggressive sound that fills out the low E and thickens up power chords. Hang On To Yourself shows a little Eddie Cochran influence when bouncing between G & F # on the low E and you can get a very thick sound despite the Velvet at a lower gain setting. The verse starts with F# m, A, B and then repeats a second time with quicker accents. Finally, Ronson shows a very rhythmic way of playing on the Chorus and varies his accents on the strumming to keep it exciting. Enjoy your riff of the day guitar lesson!
