Welcome to ProGuitarShop and ToneReport.com. Today, we’re piping down with the '52 Quiet Coil and Broadcaster Quiet Coil pickup sets, from Mojotone. These Tele® Quiet Coil sets were engineered with one goal in mind, to hush up the hum and buzz normally associated with Tele pickups. From top to bottom, both sets of Tele Quiet Coils are engineered to replicate everything you want from vintage-style Tele pickups without any of the drawbacks. Rather than take liberties with traditional Telecaster aesthetic, the Tele Quiet Coils are built to look just like real stock Tele pickups, and Mojotone took great length to ensure that they respond, feel and sound just like a vintage Tele set. The '52 Quiet Coils measure at 7.6k and feature a snappier and brighter sound with 42-gauge wire, and are perfect for die-hard Tele traditionalists. The Broadcaster set bridge measures at 9.8k with 43-gauge wire, with a slightly more compressed profile with a smoother midrange, including a thicker upper-mid profile. Both sets are designed around the attributes of vintage single coils including AlNiCo magnets and cloth wire, and each is tested individually for resonant peak frequency and inductance, ensuring the overall sonic profile is a perfect match to classic Tele tones. Mojotone also managed to accomplish this feat without adding any extra parts that might sully the Tele experience, keeping the pickups 100 percent passive. Each Mojotone pickup is lovingly wound by real humans right here in the States.
