We attempt to settle the age-old debate about which is better: Bolt-on or Neck-Thru. The answer? Neither. They're just different so it will depend on your end goal which will better suit your playing. Here we present two basses that, aside from the neck joint, are about as close as it's possible to get. Athough the tops are different (flamed maple vs ovangkol), they are thin enough not to make any significant impact on the sound.
Put on some decent headphones, crank the volume and listen to the two basses. Let us know in the comments below what differences you can hear and which you prefer.
