How I solved some audio noise and hum issues and created the presets that allow me to either go direct in to a Marshall JVM410HJS tube amp or to the Presonus mixing desk for a 'no amp' recording method.
If you get problems with noise or hum in any effects rack (or pedal board) it can be hard to solve. I show in this video what I did to solve the problem I had. Firstly I tried a Behringer HD400 isolation unit (did nothing!) and then resorted to other things to solve the problem.
Note that the fix I applied is specific to this rack unit and not necessarily recommended to your rack. Later I cover how I set up a preset with eight snapshots for the Marshall amp, and also a few other presets for recording without an amp. I do NOT explain everything in here and never intended to, but the overview does give some sort of opinion about the presets.
I have an updated downloadable rack plan (which is being completed currently so come back soon for it if you want a copy). In this video you can learn:
About the hum problem I had
What I did to fix the hum problem
Other equipment you might use to try and solve issues of hum
The updated plan from part one of the series
The 4 cable method and a Marshall JVM410HJS amplifier
A preset for recording direct to the desk
This 'review' and the making of the guitar rack is part one. I do show the inside and out of the Helix rack and the I/O and controls and other equipment to be installed and much more.

In part three I'll be discussing how I bought the Line6 Helix rack for just £875.00 brand new. And also how to setup the midi on the Line6 Helix for controlling a tube amp. It is possible to get this wrong so its worth watching.
All equipment was purchased entirely by me at street pricing so I could determine the quality, service and support without feeling 'obliged' in any way to create a video that could otherwise be misleading. This video is recorded in 4K ultra high quality.
Visit http://www.tonymckenzie.com for other non YouTube reviews of fine guitars, amps and other guitar related gear, and my YouTube channel with at least 315+ reviews online right now! I buy all of the equipment myself and my reviews are not sponsored by third parties so you get a review that will always 'tell it the way it is' about all reviewed equipment.
