Get answers to questions like these:
Why review this GT-1000CORE simulator?
What is special about the hardware features?
Is this gt-1000CORE well made?
How does this effects unit sound?
So what is the software like?
What is the review score?
Did you actually buy this guitar pedal?
Can this effects board unit be classed as a bargain?
Is this GT-1000CORE under review a retail unit?
The Boss GT-1000 came out a while back and is their top of the line guitar effects and amp simulator pedal. But there is a trend to get smaller units that can be fitted on to an effects board and other companies like Line6 and Fractal Audio among others are all in on the act. So is Roland Boss too late to the party? And can this unit (complete with a mono screen) compete with other similarly priced or lower cost units with similar specifications on offer?
There is no doubt that Boss make some very good equipment indeed, and inside this review I show you EXACTLY how good this unit really is. I discuss the aspects of input and output and whether the limited control affects the unit. I also discuss the software and show that as well as at least ten audio examples in this review. Lastly I conclude with the good and less good points as well as the final score for the unit.
The GT-1000CORE also has the ability to load IR's in to the unit with included software as well as AIRD features and software to achieve exactly the tone and 'feel' of the simulations that you really want. It's a flexible unit that should go far.
NOTE: The audio in this video was recorded in Studio One direct through a Studio Live 32 desk with NO OTHER ENHANCEMENTS whatsoever to the audio. The presets used in the final audio track included:
* P001 Premium Drive
* P032 Warp Lead
* P060 Vintage Vibe
* P105 X-Hi Gain Lead
On the presets I had to back off the reverb level in the total out settings as usual it was way too high. Every single tone is exactly what you would get by using this GT-1000 core device.
You might like to know that there were no amplifiers, speakers, microphones or anything else other than what was 'inside' the GT-1000CORE. It was a massive improvement over the original GT-1000 I reviewed some while back.
Lastly, The Stratocaster used is a guitar that I call the 'Best Fender Strat in the world' and there is a video all about that guitar on YouTube on my channel here: https://youtu.be/sjrh6mRasjk That video has over 1.4 million views - this guitar looks 'ordinary' but it is far from that! Watch that video to learn about it's secret.

Visit http://www.tonymckenzie.com for other non YouTube reviews of guitars, amps and other guitar related gear, and of course my YouTube channel with at least 300+ reviews online since 2009! I bought this pedal personally and the manufacturers have had no input whatsoever. My opinions are that of any ordinary person buying one of these products and concluding what I did - completely unbiased. Here you get a review that will always 'tell it the way it is' about all reviewed equipment.
