My video containing my opinions on the Seymour Duncan Invader humbucker has racked up a lot of views recently, so I thought I'd record some basic sound samples for you guys to get an idea of how it sounds.
It is installed in a Squier Bullet Special, with basswood body, maple neck and rosewood fingerboard. The guitar itself has a quite bassy quality and lacks the crispness you get with better woods.
The SD Invader does well in providing full on saturation and sustain. The pinches really scream, but rolled back it does some nice vintage crunch too.
It would no doubt be more expressive and sparkling in a better guitar.
Playing through a Bugera 333 infinum with EL34 valves, Marshall cab w/ Celestion Hot100 12" speaker, and picked up by a Shure SM57
