The JHS Pedals Moonshine overdrive has a very amp-like response and is designed to add something thicker and punchier to your rig. The Moonshine is also very dynamic and touch responsive because it is always running at 18volts. An internal charge pump automatically converts any standard 9v adapter to 18 volts, resulting in some very powerful boost settings and the headroom needed to handle your bass rig.
The Toggle or 'Proof' switch gives you two very different Moonshine flavors. 'Up' provides an open tone with sparkling highs and headroom that can easily transfer the sound of heavy handed strummers. 'Down' fattens up the mids and increases the clipping which in turn adds compression and sustain, creating silky sounds that cross into mysterious Dumbleland. Of course, JHS pedals build these by hand in the USA and use high quality components for low noise and true bypass switching.
