Samsung microSD cards are regarded as some of the most dependable microSD memory cards available today. They are available in many sizes, but the counterfeit ones featured here are 32Gb. I also show a genuine Samsung microSD so you can easily see the difference.
However, the genuine microSD works exactly as it should, correct size, no failures and highest quality, while the counterfeit devices most often have small size in reality, fail very quickly and often there is no warranty or refund path. On this occasion I was lucky, but you might not be.
These memory cards are used in so much equipment, whether outdoor surveillance cameras, Raspberry Pi computers, mobile phones, audio recorders, effects recording media and so much more and your chances of actually getting one or many counterfeit devices is pretty high, especially from sources that you can't be sure of.
After receiving these counterfeit microSD cards I complained to the seller (on eBay) who immediately refunded me and then did not ask for the cards back. In the meantime I reported the seller to Wigan Trading Standards and also to Samsung's HQ in the UK to the CEO's office. The memory microSD cards are still here waiting collection by either as evidence of selling counterfeit items.
Lastly, I wanted to complain to eBay about counterfeit items being sold, but they don't allow me to do that unless I own the intellectual rights! This means that often counterfeit items remain for sale from the same sellers.
This seller accused me of in effect 'stealing' cards because I did not return them. Seems he is yet to be contacted by Wigan Trading Standards or Samsung...
I really do not need his cards, or his money, and one thing is for sure, these cards will go as evidence against him and I certainly won't buy any more from him.
Take this video as educational to help ensure that you don't fall for this scam as indeed I did and hopefully it will save you money and time.
