James DePrato’s “Blues for Nola” and Bob Dylan’s “Abandoned Love” both ring bold and true on this custom 1999 National Tricone Style 4, one of 27 guitars offered in the May 2021 Acoustic Guitar Auction.

Style 4 is the top-of-the-line National Tricone, with a base price of $10,000 without any custom components. This guitar, featuring a custom Art Deco–inspired engraving by metalsmith David Giulietti, was commissioned by Paul Mehling, founder of the renowned Hot Club of San Francisco.

Its next owner will possess a truly rare specimen, ready to be enjoyed and treasured. Included with the guitar are copies of the original engraving designs and correspondence.
