Drawing inspiration from a wide range of sources (Italian standards, the Motown era, and an alien thought experiment), Italian guitarist Alberto Lombardi creates links between them all with his inventive fingerstyle arrangements and masterful technique. In this AG Session, Lombardi, on his Taylor 412, performs his original piece "The Fermi Paradox" and a pair of classics, "How Sweet It Is (To Be Loved By You)" and "Volare."
Between performances, Lombardi breaks down his approach to arranging—focusing on harmony and movement while honoring the musical integrity of the source material. He also goes into detail on some of his techniques.
