On this week’s Academy Of Tone we join Thomas and Ben Granfelt on their summer 2022 tour in Wetzlar, Germany! PLEASE NOTE: we’ve set a start time of 19:30 CET this week because Thomas is due to play at 20:00 – so tune in nice and early if you want to catch everything live.
The guys are currently out on the road doing a string of dates around finishing off the recording of their new album, and so Thomas will take you behind the scenes at the show in the Franzis venue in Wetzlar (there are a few tickets still available, by the way – links down below if you want to go see the show in person!).
He’ll chat with Ben, share some secrets of his pre-gig preparation routines, talk about the gear they’re using (two AMP1 Mercury Editions, a 61 and a 63 Strat and more) and who knows… there might even be some footage from the actual gig itself ;)
Thomas and Ben are joined on the tour by a formidable rhythm section – bassist Martin Engelien, a German music industry legend, and drummer Tommy Fischer, who has gained a reputation for never having ever made a single mistake on stage in his decades-long career, let alone on the current tour – and the band will showcase a wide variety of songs from Thomas and Ben’s own solo careers, as well as new material from their double album, and more!
Because of the live show nature of this episode, it might not be possible to read and answer your questions during the show, but we’ll try our best!
