The PS14ce is crafted from highest grade Sitka spruce for the soundboard and is combined with tropical cocobolo for the back and sides. Sitka spruce is the go-to tonewood (especially for Bob Taylor) for acoustic guitar tops because of its sonic versatility, yielding an expansive range across the entire tonal spectrum with incredible articulation and clarity, suitable for finger-stylists and flatpickers alike. Aside from exhibiting breathtaking grain patterns, cocobolo is ultra responsive to playing nuances and produces bright, articulate tones. Tonally, cocobolo can be compared to koa except cocobolo yields much better resonance in the bass range. The body also features a contoured ebony armrest and a smooth-lined, soft venetian cutaway, blending both comfort and beauty.
